“Yesterday” – The Data Rendition

Thursday, September 27 marked eXelate’s 3rd Annual Data Night, featuring the game show, $20,000 Data Pyramid. Over 300 folks from digital media gathered at the Top of The Standard for drinks, appetizers, great views, and of course – data talk! Six teams – Nielsen, Kantar Shopcom, Merkle, VivaKi, MediaMath, and [x+1] – competed in the Data Pyramid by guessing data-related clues. The winners, [x+1], received $2,500 towards their charity, BreastCancer.org.

eXelate’s own Alisa Shamrow and Tobey Van Santvoord took to the Data Night stage to deliver a special version of The Beatles’ “Yesterday.” See the video, then check out the full lyrics below!

Yesterday, validation seemed so far away
Selling ads was always my forte
Oh, I believed in spray and pray.

Suddenly, I’ve got half the reach I used to see
And I’m fighting big discrepancies
Oh, VCE came suddenly.

Context had to go, status quo, it had its day.
They want data now, so I’m using eXelate.

Yesterday, I could get my clients to prepay
Now I score too low and they walk away
Oh, OCR is here to stay.

Context had to go, status quo, it had its day.
They want data now, so I’m using eXelate.

Yesterday, branding campaigns were a reach play
Measured only with a brand survey
Oh, I believe in eXelate.
